چکیده
This study presents a mathematical model of drop size distribution during dropwise condensation on superhydrophobic surface. The is developed by combining power law growth model, an exponentially decaying population and Gaussian probability for variations. validated against experiment data, with correlations ranging from 88% to 94%. shown sufficiently describe the drops 0.02 mm 0.1 but may be extrapolated even smaller drops. data show that or frequency different sizes varies significantly time considered pseudo-cyclic. together sweep rate drops, describes this behavior and, consequently, also used better estimate heat transfer due condensation.

Scale effect on dropwise condensation on superhydrophobic surfaces.
Micro/nano (two-tier) structures are often employed to achieve superhydrophobicity. In condensation, utilizing such a surface is not necessarily advantageous because the macroscopically observed Cassie droplets are usually in fact partial Wenzel in condensation. The increase in contact angle through introducing microstructures on such two-tier roughened surfaces may result in an increase in dro...

Design and Fabrication of a Hybrid Superhydrophobic-Hydrophilic Surface That Exhibits Stable Dropwise Condensation.
Condensation of water vapor is an essential process in power generation, water collection, and thermal management. Dropwise condensation, where condensed droplets are removed from the surface before coalescing into a film, has been shown to increase the heat transfer efficiency and water collection ability of many surfaces. Numerous efforts have been made to create surfaces which can promote dr...

Dropwise condensation processes, where condensation occurs through small droplets on a solid surface, has been demonstrated to significantly improve heat transfer rates in comparison to film-wise condensation (where a whole surface is covered by a thin film of liquid). Dropwise condensation usually takes place on superhydrophobic surfaces, and one of the main engineering and scientific challeng...
